The creative industries are still far from equal.

Recent data from the Creative Diversity Network (2022–23) shows that women make up just 36.9% of writing credits, and writers from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds just 13.2%.

And in new research reported in 2024, only 1 in 12 film and TV creatives come from working-class backgrounds… the lowest level in a decade.
